The-Cloud-Thing is a
Community project which is collecting all photos of clouds forming realistic shapes (and only).
Wouldn't it be great to grouped all these amazing captures in one place so people can see them easily ?

I won't be adding any new photos until monday January 8th 2007. I am taking a break since my children are on vacations (5 of them), so please don't send any new submissions, or send them anyway but i will add them only when I will be back

Thank you to those of you who have been understanding while I was unable to add your deviations when suppose to. I had 2 viruses (2 weeks in a row!). Now that I know why and where it came from, hopefully everything will be ok in the future
Life has been really more demanding too.
For who might not understand this, I'm sorry, but there is a lot of more important things in real life, for me, than waiting 1-2 weeks to have a pic uploaded.
Anyway, I have added all the submissions from which clouds were forming realistic shapes and having the note from what has been seen through them

I realized how hesitant we could become giving others authorization to upload a photo, since there is a License that gives authorization to anybody to use our creation, even change it and... we can't never come back on our decision woth those who downloaded the photo/art under this License. So I want to inform you how I enter each deviation from the new submission process, so you can feel secure about it.
I do NOT allow download on full-view
I do NOT check "Enable deviantMobile and blog access
I do NOT choose any
License option (but if you already have one that you would like me to add here, just specify it when you submit your photo by note).
I have finished to add your name in the titles
People will remember a name easier than a title
Easier to find you this way too, by browsing or keyword search.
I thought it would be nice to recognize our fantastic watchers too ! So I will be making some week features, once in a while, picking randomly a name from the list. (well, a number, until I get a correspondant watcher who has not submit in the gallery.
Thank you to all of you who are watching the club, supporting a way or another and submitting deviations. You are the ones who are making this possible !

As I am fascinated by the so many amazing shapes that clouds sometimes form, creating some really realistic things; objects, animals and faces, etc... and as I have seen many deviants having good ones in their gallery, I have decided to create a club to make more visibility for them. So... for you !
*This is NOT a club simply for skyscape! *
The photo doesn't have to be the highest quality or the most beautiful piece of art. The main attention is on the reality-like shapes the clouds have. But you still can make it looking good, even with editing it in a digital program... as far as we can distinguish the 'real' subject easily and still looking like a photo.
NO JOINING
Because you might only have one deviation to submit ever... or only once in a while, no joinin is needed.
All I ask is that you WATCH the club (the club will watch you back).
Then, add our ICON on your JOURNAL ( it's simply : the-cloud-thing :, but NO space) or link us in your signature. That way, "you" will be the one who will benefits from it, having more visibility

FROM NOW ON... YOUR SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ADDED IN THE GALLERY ONLY IF YOU WATCH THE CLUB and HAVE ADDED THE ICON ON YOUR JOURNAL OR LINK IN SIGNATURE.
For those who don't have (and don't want) any icon on your journal, only text with name of the club-link is ok (as this : devthe-cloud-thing : but without space)
It wouldn't be fair that some are making visibility for all, while some are only taking advantage of it (getting more views) , without helping each others to get the same thing.

Simply send a NOTE with a link to your photo, in your gallery (url) and tell me what clouds are forming, if it is not in your deviation's title.
Don't forget to write that you GIVE PERMISSION to "The Cloud Thing" to add this deviation in the gallery "IN THE DESCRIPTION box" of each photo you send (I delete notes!), as soon as you get a reply for its acceptation.
The submissions will be added to the gallery ONCE A WEEK.
They have to be realistic shapes, but it doesn't have to be perfect though!
FEATURES
Each month, I feature an artist by choosing the photo I found the most amazing/interesting submission, in the gallery (1/month because we're starting and there is not much submissions yet
)
Or any good reaon that may be for me to feature this artist.
That includes:
° a cloud deviation thumbnail or link (link for moment as I don't have a subscription
)
° your name and icon (brings others on your mainpage)
° a direct link to your gallery
° some other deviations in your gallery that catch my eyes the most.
After that period (1 month) these featured photos will be added to the favorites
ooops ! I believe I won't do this as a club is not suppose to fav. But I will ask, because there is no membership here. More of a community project, collecting the most photos of clouds...blablabla. Oh well, I'll give you a feed back on this.

It is often easier to see the shapes on the small view. If the full view is too big, we lost the details and complete shape it forms.
